My name is Ben, and I AM NOT an expert on meditation or Buddhism, let’s be clear about that from the outset. I am, however, a person whose life has been changed by discovering both of these things. This blog is my way of sharing the journey I am on, in the hopes that it will be of benefit to some of my fellow human beings, and with the belief that it will be a beneficial practice for me to share as I study and grow.
I began my study of meditation to combat anxiety and depression that was becoming overwhelming as I dealt with mounting work and personal stresses. Through meditation I also began to study Buddhist thought. The combination of the practice and philosophy quickly began to shed light on some dark corners of my mind that I had never fully been aware of, and to provide me with peace and insight that demanded a deeper dive.
Starting this blog is my way to work through some of the things that I am learning and experiencing, and to share that experience with any fellow humans who might find benefit in hearing the perspective of someone who is still very much at the beginning of their journey into mindfulness, meditation, and Buddhism. I will share some of the things that have been useful to me, as well as discussions on the Dharma and the practice as they relate to my experience.
